Después de una mañana complicada por culpa de la lluvia y la niebla, las carreteras de la Isla de Man se secaron a tiempo para el inicio de la última sesión de entrenamientos clasificatorios, una jornada que se desarrolló sin incidentes graves a pesar de que el viento sopló con fuerza en algunos sectores de la isla. Antes de que comenzasen los entrenos, el director de la carrera Gary Thompson anunció que la carrera RST Superbike programada para hoy sábado se movía al domingo por las previsiones meteorólogicas.
Los primeros pilotos en salir a pista fueron los de Sidecars F2, donde la pareja favorita formada por Dave Molyneux y Ben Binns se hacía con la mejor vuelta de la jornada a 114.687 mph, insuficiente para superar las 114.742 mph que John Holden y Dan Sayle consiguieron el jueves sobre su sidecar del equipo Silicone Engineering.
Finalizada la sesión de sidecars, era el turno de las máquinas de Supersport y Lightweight. Lee Johnston, Ian Hutchinson, Keith Amor, Conor Cummins, Michael Rutter, Gary Johnon, William Dunlop y John McGuinnes eran los primeros en salir a pista, todos ellos sobre sus deportivas de 600 cc a excepción de Rutter, que lo hizo sobre su Paton Lightweight. A pesar de que fue Hutchinson el más rápido de la sesión (124.927 mph), Bruce Anstey finalizaba la jornada en lo más alto de la tabla de tiempos de Supersport gracias a su registro del miércoles, a 125.218 mph sobre la Honda CBR 600RR del Valvoline Racing.
Pasadas las 20:00 de la tarde saltaban al Mountain Course las máquinas de 1000 cc. Bruce Anstey volaba sobre su Fireblade de Superbike para establecer el mejor registro del viernes a una media de 129.394 mph, aunque no consiguió superar las 130.266 mph que Ian Hutchinson estableció en los entrenos del jueves. En Superstock pasó lo mismo: Dean Harrison conseguía completar los 60 kms del Mountain Course a 126.59 mph, pero era Michael Dunlop quien finalizaba la jornada al frente de la tabla de tiempos gracias a los 129.659 mph que registró el jueves sobre su BMW S1000RR.
A última hora de la tarde, con el sol dando la bienvenida a la noche, las máquinas eléctricas del TT Zero disponían de unos minutos para completar su primera vuelta la Isla de Man. John McGuinness demostró el potencial de la Mugen Shinden liderando la sesión a 113 mph, mientras que su compañero Bruce Anstey sufría un problema mecánico. Buen debut de William Dunlop y Lee Johnston sobre la Victory Racing eléctrica, con 105.185 y 104.185 mph de media respectivamente.
